About
I’m a software developer and a dad to two amazing girls (ages 3 and 2). That pretty much sums up where most of my time goes, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
What I’m Into Right Now
I work as a developer at Stellar MLS, and spend a lot of time learning about and applying AI both at work and in side projects. Currently building MCP servers and exploring what’s possible with Claude Code and the Claude Agent SDK.
The Unconventional Path
I took a non-traditional path to development.
I studied Zoology at University of Florida (pre-med track). Got a bit disillusioned after graduating, so I did what any confused 20-something would do: took a year off and went to Korea. Spent three months at Yonsei University doing language school, and it was one of my favorite experiences ever. Something about being completely out of your element that makes you grow. And I’ve always loved learning languages (Spanish and Korean).
Came back and got my MBA from Rollins College in 2016. Spent years doing PPC marketing and building websites and marketing funnels for small business clients. Eventually taught myself to code, started taking it seriously, and landed my first official software developer role at Stellar MLS in May 2024.
Not the straightest line from A to B, but I think the winding path makes you more interesting.
What Actually Matters
Being a dad is pretty much my entire world right now. Two girls under four means there’s not a lot of time for hobbies in the traditional sense. But I really do appreciate and love this phase of life with all the chaos.
When I do have time to myself, I’m either coding or reading about AI advancements. I should probably listen to Bryan Johnson’s advice to build my life around sleep though.
Why I Do This
I love building things. I love the moment when something clicks and works. And I’m fascinated and inspired by what AI is making possible.
I write about what I’m learning because explaining things helps me understand them better. If it helps someone else along the way, that’s a bonus.
Let’s Connect
I’m looking to connect with people who are building things, learning in public, or just want to chat about dev stuff, AI, or parenting.
